Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix boiling water and cocoa.
  • Set aside to cool down.
  • Sift flour, salt and baking powder.
  • Stir in the sugar.
  • Seperate the eggs.
  • Pour the egg yolks into the same bowl of the cocoa mixture.
  • Pour the oil, vanilla, honey and brandy into the cocoa mixture.
  • Mix well.
  • Whisk the egg whites.
  • Mix cocoa mixture with flour mixture very well.
  • Fold in the egg whites.
  • Pour into cake pans.
  • Bake at 360 deg F (180 deg C) for 30 minutes.
  • Let it cool down.
  • Filling:
  • Put caramel or cooked condensed milk in the middle.
  • Icing:
  • Sift icing sugar.
  • Add the icing sugar bit by bit to the butter while mixing.
  • Add cocoa powder.
  • Mix well.
  • Add milk and vanilla.
  • Mix well.
  • Add a bit more milk if mixture seems to stiff.
  • Put over cake.

Mix wet and dry   Close
Fold egg whites in   Close
Bake   Close
Put codensed milk in middle   Close
Put other layer on top   Close
Soften butter   Close
Sift icing sugar   Close
Mix together   Close
Mix in vanilla, cocoa,milk   Close
Spread over cake   Close
Let someone decorate it   Close

    You can leave out the alcohol. You really don't taste it, but it gives the cake a rich taste. Hope I make sense!

    I add honey to keep a cake moist. If the cake still isn't moist enough, take 5 minutes off the baking time.
