Bourbon Baked Beans Recipe
This dish is a southern jewel ready to shine! The bourbon gives this dish just the right punch! Kids of all ages love these beans! Bourbon cooks out but flavor remains! We use left overs to make franks and beans the next day(if there are left overs!)

Ingredients
  • 32 oz. pork and beans
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper, chopped
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup good quality bbq sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup Bourbon

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Saute onions and bell pepper in butter until tender.
  3. Cook bacon on paper towel lined plate in microwave for 2 to 3 minutes or until just crisp or no longer limp.
  4. Pour beans in casserole dish.
  5. Add onions and bell pepper.
  6. Tear bacon into pieces and add to beans.
  7. Stir in bbq sauce, mustard, maple, brown sugar, and bourbon.
  8. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

I usually use either Jim Beam, Cattermens. or Jack Daniels and sometimes Masterpiece. I do change up some to find the best flavor.
