Fried Alligator Recipe

	Linebb956 / All my dishes 1 year, 3 months ago I just dug out this OLD cookbook from the Acadiana area of Lousiana. I have never tried, who knows might be good! They did open gator season this year in Texas for the first time in years.. So enjoy? Prep:1153m Cook:8m Servings:6	Linebb956

Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds Alligator tail rinsed and chopped into pieces

1 small bottle hot pepper sauce

1/2 teaspoon salt

2-3 Fresh Lemons squeezed

1/2 cup water

1 potato boiled

1 small green pepper

1 garlic clove

Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

Here goes:

Marinate alligator in hot pepper sauce, salt. lemon juice, and enough water to cover.

Drain

Grind alligator with potato, green pepper, garlic and salt and pepper.

Form into patties.

Drop into hot oil until golden brown.

Note: Instead of grinding, pieces may be rolled in flour or cornmeal and fried.

Nice!! Never really liked gator cause it's too tough a meat, but I dont't think I tried it after it was marinated. I'll try this if I can find a gator in my back yard in Kansas.LOL

my family loves this...My son in law gave me the gator...he said the person that cooked it he really didn't care for it...UNTIL he ate mine...
He said it was really tender ...the other one that he had tried was tough...
but like I said this is different to do with gator can't wait to try it.
