Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1 med chopped onion
  • 2tbsp chopped garlic
  • 1/3 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp freshly grated orange zest
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 3 tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground allspice
  • 3/4 tsp fresh ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 5 dashes of hot sauce

Directions
  1. heat canola oil in a lg saucepan over med-high heat and add chopped onion and chopped garlic.
  2. cook, stirring until translucent, about 2 minutes.
  3. transfer to med bowland add the rest of the ingredients. mix well and let cool to room temp.
  4. pour cooled marinade into a shallow baking dish or sealable bag for 1 to 2 lbs of meat.
