  • 1 batch pizza dough (see my recipes- use basic or whole grain)
  • 10 cups water
  • 2/3 cup baking soda
  • Kosher salt
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1T water

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 450 F.
  2. Divide dough into 8 portions
  3. Roll each piece of dough into (about) 18 inch lengths and fold into pretzel shape, pressing lightly to join.
  4. Bring water and soda to a boil.
  5. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper and lightly grease.
  6. Drop pretzels in water one at a time for 30 seconds.
  7. Remove to baking sheet, brush with yolk and water mixture, sprinkle with coarse salt and bake for 10 -15 minutes, or until golden brown and shiny.
  8. Let cool on a rack for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
  9. **Flavour boost: Add to dough: 2 T fresh finely chopped rosemary, 3 cloves minced garlic, 1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan. Top pretzels with salt & garlic powder.

Using pizza dough-what a great idea! You could buy it ready made if you were in a hurry.
