Dutch Oven Cobbler Recipe
This is a very quick dessert to throw together for that family outing.

Ingredients
  • 1 (21-oz.) can cherry pie filling
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 (12-oz.) package baking mix
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon-sugar

Directions
  1. Preheat 20 charcoal briquettes.
  2. Line Dutch oven with foil.
  3. Preheat Dutch oven near coals.
  4. Combine pie filling and sugar in oven.
  5. Heat over 8 coals until mixture comes to a boil.
  6. Combine baking mix and enough water to make a soft dough in bowl.
  7. Drop by spoonfuls over cherry mixture.
  8. Cover and top with remaining coals.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Brush with butter; sprinkle with cinnamon-sugar.
  11. Note: If several families are camping together, have each be responsible for planning and preparing a meal.
  12. This adds variety and spreads the work around.
