How to make it

  • For kosharee:
  • Place the lentils into the pot used for the onion, stir well and add water until covered. Season with salt and pepper. Reduce heat and leave for 25 minutes until the lentil begins to cook.
  • Leave on low heat until it is completely cooked, you may add water if needed.
  • At the same time boil the macaroni, drain and keep aside.
  • for fried onion (taqlya):
  • cut onion in wings and separate them and cover them with All purpose flour and fry them for extra crunch
  • for lemon sauce (daqa):
  • four chopped garlic cloves+cumin+salt+1 cup water +lemon juice+2 ts white Vinegar+red chili
  • for red sauce:
  • Heat the oil over a medium heat, saute the onions and garlic until golden brown.
  • Add the tomato sauce, hot pepper, salt and black pepper,cumin.Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for approximately 10 minutes.
  • Add 2ts Vinegar and simmer for an additional 5 minutes.it should be littel thick.
  • serving:
  • in a plate we put rice and brown lentils first then macaroni then red sauce then fried onion then Hoummos
  • at side red sauce and lemon sauce for extra adds
