From nanamimi 15 years agoIngredients
- 1 can tuna, drained (6oz) shopping list
- 1 can of cream of chicken soup or if you prefer 1 can cream of mushroom soup either way, use the 10.75oz can shopping list
- 1 box mac and cheese shopping list
- 1 small onion diced shopping list
- garlic to taste preference shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste preference shopping list
- 1 half can of low fat milk fill rest of the way with water shopping list
- 6 cups water shopping list
- 1t vegetable or corn oil shopping list
- 1/4 c. marg or butter shopping list
- 1/4 c. milk low fat shopping list
- Topping to Jazz it Up with: shopping list
- 1/2 pack of Ritz crackers shopping list
- 1/4 c. melted marg. shopping list
- 1 c cheddar cheese shopping list
How to make it
- Put the six cups of water and l t. oil in a heavy duty pan, bring to a boil.
- Add pasta to boiling water stir until it comes back to boiling. Boil 7-8 minutes until pasta is tender, as per package directions.
- While pasta is boiling open tuna and drain, flake tuna using a fork into a bowl
- Open soup set aside
- Drain and rinse pasta, fix mac and cheese as per pkg. directions, by adding 1/4 c. margarine, stir in really good, lubricates the pasta, easier to handle. Add cheese packet from mix and 1/4 milk, stir until well mixed together. Put into oven proof casserole dish.
- Add flaked and drained tuna
- Add soup of choice,(some people aren't fond of mushrooms so I use the cream of chicken instead and found out I prefer it to the cream of mushroom
- add half can of milk topped of with water, mix well
- add diced onions, you don't have to add the onions if you don't like them or you can halve the amount, the dish will taste just as good without them. I like onions so I prefer them my daughter doesn't so I don't add them when she is over to eat.
- Add seasonings, garlic powder, salt and pepper, mix altogether, now you might like to add other seasonings, these are the ones I always use but you more elaborate chefs might want to add your own personal preferences. The casserole is now ready to eat
- Should you decide to jazz it up, crumble half pack of ritz crackers in a bowl, add 1/4 c. melted margarine to the bowl, stir altogether
- Add cheddar cheese to the cracker crumble.
- Sprinkle mixture over top of casserole
- Place under broiler to melt the cheese and make it a beautiful golden color and bubbly, about 5 minutes. Delicious. This is quick, simple and tasty, honest!
