Another "does it need a recipe", but, maybe someone does! It's so easy to over cook corn, but when you are lucky enough to get it fresh from the farmer or garden, it'd be a shame to over cook.

Ingredients
  • 8 ears fresh corn on the cob, shucked and trimmed
  • Water enough to fill large pot
  • Salt, parsley and butter(for AFTER corn is cooked---never salt the water)

Directions
  1. Fill large pot 3/4 full with cold water and bring to a boil.
  2. Immediately add corn and cook for just about 5 minutes.
  3. You do not need to wait for water to reboil UNLESS you are only able to cook half the corn at a time due to pan size. If so, once first batch is done, reboil water then add second.
  4. Remove from water and serve immediately with butter, salt and parsley as garnish, if desired.

I wish I had some right now to go with my ribs. Yummm

I know corn is good this way. Have you tried microwaving corn? It's basically steaming it, but keeps the kitchen cooler. Thanks for the recipe.

Always good to see that there are others who don't feel the need to boil fresh corn to death. Visiting with the BF's fam recently...his dear sweet mother turned her nose up at my grilled corn and then the following weekend did corn "her way". 35 minutes in the boiling pot. The horror.

Perfect! Had some tonight!
