Ingredients
  • 1 loaf artisan French bread or wide baguette
  • 2 Tbs Minced Garlic
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter
  • 1 bunch of chives
  • 1/2 Tbs Oregano
  • Zest of one lemon (must use...!)

Directions
  1. Slice that loaf of bread right up the middle so you have two halves.
  2. In a small sauce pan, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic.
  3. Take a basting brush (or any brush for that matter - pastry, etc) and start slathering the butter mixture all across the bread. Let it soak in!
  4. Sprinkle a bit of the lemon zest over the bread.
  5. Sprinke with oregano.
  6. Bake in 350 degree oven for 12 minutes, then brown under brolier setting for a minute or two.
  7. When the bread is finished broiling let it cool for a minute or two. This is when I sprinkle with the lemon zest and chives !
  8. So good!
