Mamas Pound Cake Recipe
Moist cake. I have also used this recipe and divided the batter into 3 or 4 cake pans for layers. Works out great.

Ingredients
  • 3 sticks room temperature butter or margarine
  • 3 c sugar
  • 3 c plain flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Dash of salt
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c milk or 8 oz carton sour cream

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cream butter and sugar well.
  3. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each egg.
  4. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together.
  5. Alternate flour mixture with milk or sour cream mixing well.
  6. Add vanilla.
  7. Pour into a big tube cake pan, greased or sprayed with non stick cooking spray and bottom lined with wax paper.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes - 1 hour 10 minutes at 350 degrees.

I never made a sour cream pound cake but mom has and she said they are very moist, don't know why I haven't tried them, I usually do the cream cheese one. You have my 5 on this one because I certainly trust my mom's word ;0)


Mmmmmm, pound cake is a favourite of mine. This recipe looks wonderfully delicious and thank you for sharing. I'm with Henrie, you've got my "5" on this recipe as well.


I love pound cake, this is a must try.
