How to make it

  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs.
  • Sift dry ingredients.
  • Stir in dry ingredients alternately with vanilla and milk.
  • Fold in walnuts.
  • Pour into two greased 9-inch layer pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 - 30 minutes.

  • Creamy Caramel Icing:
  • Heat cream and butter.
  • Carmelize sugar.
  • Add creamed butter stirring until lumps are dissolved.
  • Gradually stir in powdered sugar.
  • Add more cream if icing gets too thick.
  • Ice cooled cake.
