Ingredients
  • FOR THE EMPANADA
  • 1 lb, of puff pastry.
  • 10 oz canned tuna
  • 8 oz homemade tomato sauce
  • 1 canned chipotle (depends on your taste)
  • FOR GARNISHING
  • 1 egg beaten, to glaze
  • 1tsp. basil
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp. white pepper

Directions
  1. FOR THE EMPANADA
  2. Grease and flour a mold of your choice.
  3. Roll out half of the puff pastry dough, cut a circle and place in the mold.
  4. In the blender mix the tomato sauce with the chipotle.
  5. Mix the drained tuna with the tomato sauce.
  6. Fill the mold.
  7. Cover with another circle of puff pastry.
  8. GARNISH
  9. roll some of the dough and make some shapes to decorate the empanada.
  10. Brush with beaten egg.
  11. Add the spices.
  12. bake for 1 hr. 325 degrees.
