How to make it

  • In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add melted peanut buitter chips; mix well.
  • Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Beat in vanilla.
  • Combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk.
  • Pour into two greased and floured 9-in. round cake pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pans to wire racks to cool completely.
  • For Frosting:
  • In a small mixing bowl, beat the melted chips, cream cheese, vanilla and salt until light and fluffy.
  • Add confectioners sugar alternately with enough milk to achieve spreading consistency.
  • Spread frosting between layers and over top and sides of cake.
  • NOTE: To change the cake a bit, I will frost it with chocolate frosting and garnish around the top edges with chopped or crushed peanuts. Its quite good!

This sounds really yummy! You could make it a PB&J cake and add warmed jelly in between the layers and PB frosting for the rest of the cake. Mmmmm...gonna have to make this soon! Thanks for sharing! ~Laura ;D
