How to make it

  • Using an electric mixer on low speed, beat the butter and half the sugar until fluffy.
  • Add in the rest of the sugar, salt, and schnapps and mix well.
  • Add milk, a little at a time, until the sauce is a drizzling consistency. Add a little extra milk (or schnapps) if you need to make it thinner.
  • Spoon over dumplings or other dessert of your choice and enjoy.

    Hi Lillian, and thanks for the comment! I used a recipe from AR, but the hard sauce there called for raw eggs - a big turn off for me. That's why I read a bunch of other hard sauce recipes and invented my own. Here's the link to the AR recipe:
