Hard Sauce For Peach Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon peach schnapps
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1-2 Tablespoons milk

Directions
  1. Using an electric mixer on low speed, beat the butter and half the sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add in the rest of the sugar, salt, and schnapps and mix well.
  3. Add milk, a little at a time, until the sauce is a drizzling consistency. Add a little extra milk (or schnapps) if you need to make it thinner.
  4. Spoon over dumplings or other dessert of your choice and enjoy.

Hi Lillian, and thanks for the comment! I used a recipe from AR, but the hard sauce there called for raw eggs - a big turn off for me. That's why I read a bunch of other hard sauce recipes and invented my own. Here's the link to the AR recipe:
