Fudgy Chocolate-Peppermint Brownies Recipe
Rich, chocolatly brownies. The dry ingriedents can be layered in order, with the peppermint in a bag and attached to the jar with ribbion for a great gift.

Ingredients
  • 3 c AP Flour
  • 3/4 c Dutch processed cocoa
  • 1 c mint baking chips or chopped andies mints
  • 2 c sugar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 6oz bottersweet chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1 c walnut halves
  • 1/4 c finely crushed peppermin candy canes or round peppermint candies
  • To Prepare Brownies:
  • 1 1/4 c unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/3 c whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract

Directions
  1. Preheat over to 350F. Spray a 13x9 baking pan with cooking spray. Beat butter in a large bowl at med speed until smooth. Beat in eggs at low speed. Beat in milk and peppermint extract. (Mixture will look curdled.)
  2. Slowly beat in all dry ingredients except crushed candy canes and spoon into pan. (Batter will be thick)
  3. Bake 25-30 mins or until top looks dry and toothpick inserted two inches from edge comes out clean. Immediately sprinkle with crushed candies, bake 1 min or until candy is slightly melted. Cool on wire rack. Center will sink slightly.
