Ingredients

How to make it

  • Stir together cornmeal and flour in a large bowl until combined.
  • Sprinkle shrimp with Creole seasoning. Add the shrimp, onion mixture, and okra to cornmeal mixture. Stir in egg and beer just until mixture is moistened. Let stand 5-7 minutes.
  • Pour oil to depth of 4 in. into a Dutch oven; heat to 350. Drop batter by level tablespoons into hot oil, and fry, in batches, 2 to 2 1/2 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  • Drain on a wire rack over paper towels and serve immediately.

That sounds so good and different. Love shrimp and okra also. Having a fish fry tonight may have to pull out some shrimp too and give this a try. Thanks, Lara
