Ingredients

2 lbs. ground chuck (not too lean)

4 tbs. sour cream

Cheddar cheese – shredded

Large ripe tomatoes

Large white onion

Olive oil

Oregano

Parsley

Salt, pepper

Condiments for burgers

Buns - not too fancy, don’t want to take flavor from the burgers

Directions

In a large bowl combine the burger with the sour cream

Form into good size patties; keep them flat and wide

Slice the tomatoes and put on paper towels and sprinkle with salt

Slice the onions, put on towels, brush with olive oil and sprinkle with salt

When the burgers are almost ready to serve, heat the broiler

Put the tomatoes and onion on sheet pans

Put the cheese on the tomatoes and sprinkle the oregano and parsley on top

Sprinkle the onions with the parsley and oregano

Put under broiler

Remove from broiler when the cheese is melting

Decorate each burger with the tomato and onion or let the guests serve themselves.

The Cheesy, tomatoey, oniony burgers were a hit

Along with the usual condiments I also serve Horseradish Cream Sauce
