Pickled Wieners Recipe
Another great one for parties or family get togethers. Best to set for 3 days in refrigerator.

Ingredients
  • 4 pkgs wieners (8 per pkg)
  • 2 large onions, thinkly sliced
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teasp. salt
  • 1 teasp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup ground cumin
  • 4 and 1/2 ounces pepper sauce (hot)
  • 4 cups white vinegar

Directions
  1. Slice each wiener into three pieces. Combine with onions; set aside.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients in saucepan; bring to boil for 3 minutes. Pour liquid over wieners and onions.
  3. Cover tightly.
  4. Refrigerate several days before serving to allow flavors to blend.
  5. NOTE.....
  6. You can also do pickled eggs.
  7. For pickled hard-boiled eggs: Place peeled eggs in jar.
  8. Mix vinegar and water together in equal amounts (enough to cover eggs).
  9. Add 1 teaspoon salt and two or three hot peppers to eggs; pour vinegar/water mixture over eggs.
  10. Cover tightly. Do not open jar until set.
  11. Let set for 2 weeks before eating.
