Hey and many thanks!! :)
Re: easy chicken pie..in the southland (way back) they used
mostly the chicken and dough for the pie..(with veggies on the side..Chicken pie was ften 'SUNDAY BEST' ..
I also have another Chicken pie on with all the veggies..(If not..will do one!!)
thanks much! :)
Lana

I love this quick method of chicken pie. Thanks for sharing this!

Lana, you are right. I grew up on Southern Chicken Pot Pie, and only the chicken, the rich broth and the dough or pastry, (my mother made pastry) were used. Occasionally, hard boiled eggs were chopped and added. Vegetables were served separately.
Made a chicken pot pie last night for supper! So delicious. There is nothing like it!
This is a very nice recipe, so easy and quick! Thanks, Lana. :)

A real nice Chicken Pot Pie recipe, sounds very rich and satisfying.

Thank-you

This sounds really yummy, I like the addition of the biscuit mix for the topper! I hope you don't mind, but I added it to the Chicken Little Group. Cheers! ~Laura ;D

Yum!! I love chicken pie, I could even do this recipe after coming home from work in the evening...;-)~ Thanks Lana.. High 5 Jim

This looks great! Sounds like a winner for Fall! Thanks!

The reason I say old timey is because this is
the kind Mama's & friends (in the 50's):) used to take to our church pot lucks..Yep, Rose..Lots DID put boiled eggs in it and was of course home made pastry.
('weren't' no Bisquick:))

Just saw Paula Dean do this on a recent show. I'll be making these this winter. Recently had a Marie Calender (or however you spell it) and gave it a try--it was aweful!! All dough and hardly any "stuffing". I don't eat the premade stuff too often, but this sure did make me appreciate home made even more!!! Thanks for sharing!!!

Hi there and thanks Tamie..LOL, many of us
ladies in the south cooking Southern as long
or longer than Paula..This was my mothers but
Mama used homemade pastry of course. :)
