Lisas Pulled Pork Recipe

Lisas Pulled Pork Recipe
This is my version of Carolina style pulled pork. It came from many recipes that I've seen all over the place. Takes a lot of non active prep time, but over all hands on time isn't that much.

Ingredients
  • Dry rub:
  • 1/4 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup dry mustard
  • 1/4 cup ground cumin
  • 1/4 cup paprika
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1/4 cup onion powder
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon crushed red pepper
  • Sauce:
  • 1 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 cup Frank's Red Hot sauce
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 5-6 pound pork shoulder roast, bone in (more flavor)

Directions
  1. Mix dry rub ingredients. Place roast on a large pan or platter and liberally coat with all of the dry rub. Cover well and place in fridge for about 24 hours.
  2. When ready to cook, place roast and whatever you can scrape off the pan or platter into a large dutch oven or other large pan with a tight fitting lid. Mix sauce ingredients and pour over roast.
  3. Bake at 300 for about 6 hours until it is falling off the bone.
  4. When done, remove bone and shred with a fork or tongs.
  5. Serve on buns with lots of napkins.
