Actually traditional Maltese bread is NOT a sourdough bread at ALL.
The traditional Maltese Bread has only 4 ingredients such as:
    1. Flour
    2. Yeast
    3. Water
    4. Salt
That is ALL the ingredients the Original Maltese Traditional Bread contains. The traditional Maltese bread is renowned for its crust, which generally spends a full 60 to 65 minutes in a wood oven.

However like ALL recipes over time, variations of the original recipes evolve.
Just like Ms_isabelle Maltese bread recipe is quite different to the "Original Traditional Maltese Bread" as contains Margarine, Milk and Sugar. This bread recipe seems closer to the French style of breads and im positive it will be very nice also.

I thought Maltese bread is made with Sourdough .... I've made it very successfully with Sourdough but I will give this a try since it looks like it will take a lot less time than mine !!
