Oriental Bean Sprouts Recipe
Bean sprouts can stand on their own as a side dish, and they are very inexpensive. Serve these with an oriental glazed pork roast, or just plain old skillet fried pork chops.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb. fresh bean sprouts (do not used canned)
  • 2 slices fresh ginger, shredded
  • 3 garlic cloves crushed
  • 3 scallions, sliced into 1" pieces (white and green parts)
  • 1 Tbl. lard
  • 1 1/2 Tbl. soy sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dark sesame oil
  • 3 tbl. oil
  • salt

Directions
  1. Heat oil in a saute pan or wok if you have one.
  2. Add the ginger and garlic and saute until garlic is tender.
  3. Add in the oil and bean sprouts and sprinkle with salt, stir-fry until just tender (not soft).
  4. Add lard, soy sauce and onion and cook another 2 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with sesame oil and serve hot.
