Grandmas Apple Blueberry Cake

this cake is filled with blueberries and apples with whipped cream on top .. the recipe is from the Country Heritage Cookbook by Land o' Lakes...
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1/4 cup whipping cream shopping list
- 1 1/4 cups sugar shopping list
- 3 eggs shopping list
- 2 1/3 cups flour shopping list
- 2 teasp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teasp. salt shopping list
- 2 cups peeled cored coarsely chopped tart cooking apples shopping list
- 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries shopping list
- .................................................. shopping list
- sweetened whipped cream shopping list
How to make it
- in a 1 quart saucepan combine butter and cream
- cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, until butter melts about 7 minutes...set aside
- in a large mixer bowl... combine sugar and eggs
- beat at medium speed, until well mixed
- add butter mixture, flour, baking powder and salt
- continue beating until smooth ( 1 - 2 minutes)
- by hand stir in apples and blueberries
- spread batter in a greased and floured 13 x 9-inch baking pan
- bake in a preheated 350' F oven for 45 - 55 minutes
- or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean
- serve warm with sweetened whipped cream
