Debs Quick Fix Shepards Pie

Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef(at least 80% lean) shopping list
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper shopping list
- dash of creole seasoning shopping list
- 1 bag frozen seasoning mix(onions, celery, bell pepper) shopping list
- 2 packages onion gravy mix shopping list
- 1 pack brown gravy mix shopping list
- 1 box Betty Crocker butter & Herb mashed potatoes, made according to package directions shopping list
- 1 stick of butter, divided shopping list
- 1 (8oz) block of medium cheddar cheese, sliced or cut into chunks shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- Adding a vegetable layer:Optional shopping list
- 1 can peas, drained shopping list
- 1 can sliced carrots, drained shopping list
- (or 2 cans mixed vegetables) shopping list
- 1/2 stick butter shopping list
- salt and pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Brown ground beef.
- Season with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper and place in casserole dish.
- Saute seasoning bag with 3 tablespoons of butter.
- Cook for 3 minutes over med. heat.
- Stir in creole seasoning to taste(or about 1/2 teaspoon)spoon over ground beef.
- Make potatoes according to package directions.
- Stir well and spoon over ground beef and onion layer.
- Make gravies according to package directions.
- Mix gravies together and pour over potatoes.
- Sprinkle cheese over gravy layer.
- cut remaining butter into small pieces and place on top of cheese layer.
- Run under for 3 to 5 minutes or until cheese melts and is a golden brown.
- Vegetable layer directions:(optional)
- Heat peas and carrots in saucepan over med. heat.
- Stir in butter and cook until well heated(about 3 minutes)
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread over meat layer before adding potatoes.
- Continue as directed above.
