Best Tuna Melt New Jersey Diner Style Recipe

This is an Allrecipe recipe. We have made it many times. These are served open face.

Ingredients
- 2 (6 ounce) cans solid white tuna in water, drained
- 1/4 cup good mayonaisse
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon chopped italian parsly
- 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 pinch fresh ground black pepper
- 4 slices seedlss rye bread
- 8 slices ripe tomato
- 8 slices swiss cheese
- paprika for garnish
Directions
- Preheat oven broiler
- In a bowl, mix the tuna, mayo, celery, onion, parsley, and vinegar.
- Season to taste with salt.
- Divide and spread evenly onto the for slices of bread
- Top each with one slice of cheese, then the tomato, then the last slice of cheese.
- Broil until cheese is melted and gooey.
- Sprinkle with paprika for garnish
