Pina Colada Glazed Pound Cake

- cake shopping list
- 1 cup butter, softened shopping list
- 1/2 cup vegetable shortening shopping list
- 3 cups sugar shopping list
- 6 eggs, well beaten shopping list
- 3 cups all-purpose flour, sifted shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 cup whole milk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon each: coconut, butter, pineapple, rum, and vanilla extracts shopping list
- glaze shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/2 cup water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon each: coconut, butter, pineapple, rum, and vanilla extracts shopping list
How to make it
- Cake:
- In large bowl of a mixer, combine butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs.
- Combine flour and baking powder.
- Add to cream mixture alternately with milk.
- Stir in extracts.
- Spoon batter into a greased 10-inch tube pan.
- Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
- Add glaze and cool in pan about 10 minutes before turning out.
- Glaze:
- In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and gently bring to a boil. Pour over cake in pan. Let cake sit in pan until cool.
