Ingredients

How to make it

  • heat butter in large skillet and add shallots in a single layer
  • cook gently, turning occasionally,until the are lightly browned
  • sprinkle with sugar.. turning the shallots in the juices until the sugar begins to caramelize
  • add the wine and let the mixture bubble for 4 -5 minutes
  • add 2/3 cup of water and season with salt and pepper
  • cook until the liquid evaporates and the shallots are tender and glazed.
  • taste and adjust the seasoning
  • .......................................................
  • these are great served with meat dishes especially beef
