Date Pecan Frosting Recipe

	Peetabear / All my dishes 1 year, 2 months ago I made a mistake in the title of the recipe and it is now correct...sorry....This frosting can be used on the chocolate pecan cake recipe already posted... it will cover a 3 layer 9-inch cake between the layers and the top and sides... the recipe is from the Spirit of Christmas series..... Ingredients

3 cups sugar

1 can ( 14-ounces ) condensed sweetened milk

1/2 cup hot water

2 cups finely chopped dates ( about a pound )

1 cup finely chopped pecans

Directions

In medium saucepan ... combine sugar, milk, and water

bring to a boil over medium-high heat..

reduce heat to medium and cook for 5 -8 minutes, stirring constantly until frosting thickens

stir in dates and pecans.

let cool some

...........................................................

this will cover a 3 layer cake top sides and in between the layers.

I just realized there is chocolate in the title but not in the recipe. Is there supposed to be any?
