How to make it

  • put the sliced onions and the butter in a 4 quart slow cooker
  • cover and cook for 12 hours on low
  • or until the onions are a deep brown color
  • cool and transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate

  • these can be used to make French onion soup
  • put on top of pizzas, hamburgers
  • grilled steaks
  • add to soups and stews..
  • makes 3 1/2 cups
