On the Oregon Trail Rice and Cornmeal Mush Breakfasts

- rice for Breakfast shopping list

- 1/2 cup of rice shopping list
- 1 cup of water, shopping list
- fresh milk shopping list
- butter shopping list
- sugar shopping list
- molasses shopping list
- cornmeal Mush shopping list
- ---------------------- shopping list
- 1 cup cornmeal shopping list
- 4 cups boiling water shopping list
- 1 tablespoon lard or butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- dried currents (raisins) optional shopping list
How to make it
- Mush Directions
- ------------------------
- Put currents into water and bring to a boil. Sprinkle cornmeal into the boiling water stirring constantly, adding butter and salt. Cook for about 3 minutes, then portion into bowls. Can be topped with milk, butter, sugar or molasses.

I have been sick but I'm trying to make a comeback and stop by a few pages. I love the Bio up there! I have had this when I was little. We went camping in the Mountains and my great uncle made this. We all ate it and liked it! It sure did warm us up!
