How to make it

  • Heat oven to 400.
  • Cut the tortillas in the shap and size chips you want. I cut them like a Pizza into sixes.
  • Place them on an oiled baking pan.
  • Brush on Olive Oil and salt to taste.
  • Place in oven and bake until golden but not hard 5 to 10 min.
  • With cooking tongs turn over Tortilla chips and brush this side with oil as well. Replace in oven and bake until golden and crisp another 5 to 10 min. You can add salt to this side as well if wanted.
  • Now enjoy chips and salsa, Nachos, whatever you need chips for.

I did the flour tortilla chips today. Can't give a solid review on these since they were ground up to use in another dish. Maybe next time.

    " It was excellent "

I actually made these a few weeks ago - a cinch to make for a large party. I cannot tell you how many compliments I received.... and they kept quite well in the fridge in a sealed baggie... and like you, I too for several months now have been trying to make everything I eat - except for crackers... I still buy those - lol, or cheese - though it is wonderful to see the monies I have saved for making a lot of my own food, including bread, knowing how much healthier and less preservatives (none) are added to the food, among other ingredients you need a scientist to translate for you.

I actually had a place to make more today since I have some homemade guacamole calling my name sitting in the fridge. Also white flour tortillas create a flaky tortilla chips (more fragile then say the corn) but still deliciously light.
