Fresh Strawberry  Ganache Pie Recipe
This wonderful pie is a classic pairing of fresh strawberries and chocolate

Ingredients
  • 1 9 inch pie crust, baked
  • 1 Quart fresh Strawberries
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 3 Table spoons Cornstarch
  • 3/4 Cup Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1/2 Cup + 2 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
  • 6 Ounces of Chocolate (Dark or Milk whatever you prefer)

Directions
  1. Bake the single layer crust in an oven until golden brown and cool to room temperature
  2. Over a double boiler melt the chocolate in the heavy cream until mixed well and perfectly smooth
  3. Add the chocolate ganache to the pie shel and refrigerate until set hard.
  4. Clean and slice the strawberries and arrange half of them layered into the pie shell over the chocolate
  5. Puree the remaining berries and combine them with the sugar in a medium sauce pan over medium heat.
  6. Whisk together the water and cornstarch until smooth and mix into the berry mixture.
  7. Stirring constantly raise the mixture to a boil and thickens.
  8. Remove from the heat and pour mixture into the pie shell.
  9. Chill several hours or until set. Serve with a dollop of whipped cream
