How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350*F.
  • Place bread cubes in a greased 13x9x2" baking dish.
  • In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cream, butter, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon.
  • Pour evenly over the bread.
  • Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes before cutting.
  • Meanwhile in a small saucepan bring sugar, water and lemon juice to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium.
  • Cook until sugar is dissolved and mixture turns a golden amber color.
  • Stir in butter until melted.
  • Add cream.
  • Remove from the heat.
  • Serve with bread pudding.

    I tried bread pudding one time when we went out to the casino in one of the restaurants there and fell in love with it and I have been looking for a recipe for it, well an easy one and this is perfect, thanks!! but as bestcooker said "how much milk should be used??" well I looked at other recipes and all had 2 - 2 1/4 cups, so I will try this amount.

    Step 3 of the instructions includes milk when whisking together the ingredients, but there is no milk included in the list of ingredients. How much milk should be used???
