How to make it

  • Coat the roast with flour
  • Reserve any flour that doesn't stick to the roast
  • Sear the roast on all sides in a large skillet over medium heat in the oil
  • Place in slow cooker
  • Combine dry soup mix, gravy mix, reserved flour and ginger ale in a bowl and whisk together until smooth
  • Pour over roast (place in fridge until next day at this point, if you want)
  • Cover and cook on low 8 to 10 hours or until roast is tender
  • Serve with creamy mashed potatoes and your choice of a side
  • Note: ideal size crockpot is 4 qt, larger may be used
