Ingredients
  • 1 - cup (2 sticks) butter. (Margarine is never a good thing for (humans.) hahaha........ In addition, for this recipe, it will not work................
  • 1 - c upsugar
  • 1 - cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 - cup finely chopped toasted almonds

Directions
  1. Cook butter and sugar in a heavy 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms brittle globs or candy thermometer reaches 300 degrees – about 25-30 minutes.
  2. If stirred too often, the toffee may separate.
  3. Spread quickly into 15x10x1 inch pan.
  4. Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot candy.
  5. Let stand for 5 minutes.
  6. Spread melted chocolate over candy, then sprinkle with almonds. Cool and break into pieces
