Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cook butter and sugar in a heavy 2 quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until small amount of mixture dropped into ice water forms brittle globs or candy thermometer reaches 300 degrees – about 25-30 minutes.
  • If stirred too often, the toffee may separate.
  • Spread quickly into 15x10x1 inch pan.
  • Sprinkle chocolate chips over hot candy.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes.
  • Spread melted chocolate over candy, then sprinkle with almonds. Cool and break into pieces

    Love homemade toffee with nuts. I did double up on the nuts and left them a little chunkier than finely chopped. I also tossed in some nuts in the toffee itself. Delicious and perfect for the holidays!

    How do you get the chocolate and almonds on the bottom on the candy. Also thet look like bite size bits instead of flat pieces.

    Minitindel - I made a batch of your wonderful toffee earlier this month to send to our Eldest at College.

    Making another batch now as her roommate loved it so much that Eldest only got 2 bits!!

    WONDERFUL STUFF!! (I had to sample before I shipped it out, didn't I?)
