How to make it

  • Over boiling water mix together egg yolks and sugar in the top of a double boiler. Then, reduce heat to low setting and cook for around 10 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove mixture from heat and whip the yolks until they become thick and a lemon color. Now, add the mascarpone to the yolks and beat well until combined. Whip cream to stiff peaks in a separate bowl. Carefully fold the cream into the yolk mixture and place aside. Cut the lady fingers in half, and use them to line the bottom and sides of a large sized, glass bowl. Brush them with coffee liqueur and apply half of the cream filling over the lady fingers. Repeat the same procedure and sprinkle with cocoa powder, and garnish with chocolate curls (Using a vegetable peeler, run it down the edge of the chocolate bar). Place in the refrigerator for several hours (or overnight).

Sorry for contradicting you, I am not a chef, but I am Italian, and the original recipe of tiramisu, is different...The original italian "tiramisu", that every mum prepares for the children, does not contain any alchool (replaced by a 6 cups -italian expresso cup- of real italian coffee), no cooking of the eggs-sugar mixture, but as you know, there are so many ways to cook italian!. sorry for my english!
