How to make it

  • Syrup
  • * 1/2 cup vinegar
  • * 1 cup sugar
  • * 1 stick margarine
  • * 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • * 1 cup water
  • 1. Mix all the above together and bring to a boil.
  • 2. Drop dumplings into mixture and boil about 15 minutes or until syrup is thick.
  • Dumplings
  • * 1 cup flour
  • * 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • * 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • * 2 Tablespoons margarine
  • * 6 Tablespoons milk
  • Mix all together, like you would for biscuits.
  • Roll out into small rounds 1/2 inch thick and drop in vinegar syrup

    this is an interesting recipe. i've never heard of vinegar dumplings. it's definitely worth trying out.
