Banana N Chocolate Brownies

- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups granulated sugar shopping list
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted shopping list
- 1 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/3 cup water shopping list
- 1/4 cup prune baby food shopping list
- 1/4 cup mashed ripe banana shopping list
- 1 cup vegetable or canola oil shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/2 cup dried cherries shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 F (180 C).
- Combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.
- Combine water, prune baby food, banana, oil and vanilla and stir into dry ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips and dried cherries and mix until evenly combined.
- Grease a 9 x 13-inch (23 x 32-cm) baking pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- Spread mixture evenly into pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Let cool fully before cutting.
- Makes about 16 brownies.
- Note: If you want a rich dark taste, then use a dark European chocolate that has a high amount of cocoa solids in it - 75 percent for the chips.
