Ingredients

How to make it

  • Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well . Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
  • Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
  • Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again.
  • Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes at 1000 watts. try 1/1/2 - 2 minutes first so its not so dry ok.........
  • The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
  • Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
  • EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to share!) but who wants too !!hahaha
  • And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night! ............yikes!!!!!!!!

sorry no thanks. made this tonight. Dense, rich, and "artificial" tasting. I followed the recipe to a "T". To each his own, I guess.

I've heard so much about this cake that I think I will try it for our dessert tonight, but I'm not going to share lol, I think I'll make two of them. I love to bake but have never found a chocolate cake recipe that I like other then the duncan hines or betty crocker cake mixes most are too dry or way too heavy. Can you Ice this cake, just a thought?

I love this recipe. The first time I made it, I added cinnamonm but a wee bit too much. The second time, I made a slightly altered version with baking powder.

Now, I made these with Arrowhead Mills Gluten Free All Purpose flour. I ran out yesterday, making another recipe. So today I tried it with Orgran's Gluten Free All Purpose flour.

it was a disaster. It didn't cook..actually...that's wrong. It didn't even rise. It came out looking just like when I finished mixing it. I even tried it a second time to make sure I didn't make a mistake.

So, this reciepe is truely amazing, but a warning to everyone who buys organic gluten free flour. do NOT make this with Orgran. Arrowhead Mills is far better. Ironically, I use an orgran egg replacement!

I tried this tonight, because I was craving something sweet. Loved it, but I think next time I would leave the chocolate chips out, because it was a bit too sweet with it in it. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

I’m a big fan of the chocolate microwave mug cake recipe, too. In fact, I’m also the author of “101 Recipes for Microwave Mug Cakes” that builds on this recipe (but, hopefully, adds some ideas and baking tips for those who love microwave mug cakes as much as I do). Check it out at http://www.microwavemugcakes.com.
