Creme deMenthe Cake

This is one of my favorite made-with-a-mix recipes. It was a hit in my area in the 80s, and I've made it many, many times since then. Easy and looks impressive when served!
Ingredients
- 1 white cake mix with pudding shopping list
- eggs, oil, water as per the cake mix directions shopping list
- ½ cup green creme de menthe, divided shopping list
- 1 jar fudge ice cream topping shopping list
- 1 (12-oz.) carton Cool Whip shopping list
How to make it
- Mix cake mix as directed on the box.
- Add ¼ cup of the creme de menthe and blend well.
- Bake as directed.
- Cool.
- Spread fudge topping on top of cooled cake.
- Mix Cool Whip with the other ¼ cup creme de menthe.
- Mix well.
- Spread over fudge topping and refrigerate.
- Note: I use the creme deMenthe liquor, but you can use the one that you buy in the grocery store that is nonalcoholic and I think sold with ice cream toppings. The alcohol cooks out, but some say not completely, so use your own judgement.
