The first time I tasted these bars, I absolutely had to have the recipe. Using the fancy mixed nuts, these bars are pretty enough for a Christmas cookie plate or a wedding reception. Would go good at a picnic or Superbowl party also!

Ingredients
  • 1½ c. flour
  • ¾ c. brown sugar
  • ½ c. butter
  • 6 oz. peanut butter chips
  • ½ c. white syrup
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 (12-oz.) can fancy mixed nuts

Directions
  1. Mix the flour, brown sugar, and ½ cup butter.
  2. Pat into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  4. Melt together, but do not boil, peanut butter chips, syrup, 2 tablespoons butter, and water.
  5. Pour over crust.
  6. Sprinkle mixed nuts over filling.
  7. Bake until bubbly all over, not just the edges, approximately 15 minutes.
  8. Don’t overbake.
