Armenian Nut Coil Rolls

- dough: shopping list
- 1 cup warm milk shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 crumbled yeast cake shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter softened shopping list
- 3 1/2 cup flour shopping list
- Filling: shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts shopping list
- Icing: shopping list
- 3/4 cup confectionary sugar shopping list
- 1 Tbs milk or as needed shopping list
How to make it
- Mix milk, sugar and salt.
- add yeast cake and stir well till dissolved
- stir in egg and softened butter and flour
- Knead until soft and pliable and place in an oiled bowl
- Lise rise double in a warm place about 2 hours.
- Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.
- Roll into a rectangle.
- Spread with the butter and sprinkle on the nuts
- Fold dough into thirds ( 3 layers )
- With a sharp knife cut dough into stiprs about 1/2 inch
- Twist strips and wind into a coil
- Bake in a 425F oven about 10 minutes.
- While coils are warm, frost with an icing made freom the sugar and milk.
