Armenian Nut Coil Rolls Recipe

Ingredients

dough:

1 cup warm milk

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp salt

1 crumbled yeast cake

1 egg

1/4 cup butter softened

3 1/2 cup flour

Filling:

1/4 cup butter

1/2 cup chopped nuts

Icing:

3/4 cup confectionary sugar

1 Tbs milk or as needed

Directions

Mix milk, sugar and salt.

add yeast cake and stir well till dissolved

stir in egg and softened butter and flour

Knead until soft and pliable and place in an oiled bowl

Lise rise double in a warm place about 2 hours.

Punch down and let rest 10 minutes.

Roll into a rectangle.

Spread with the butter and sprinkle on the nuts

Fold dough into thirds ( 3 layers )

With a sharp knife cut dough into stiprs about 1/2 inch

Twist strips and wind into a coil

Bake in a 425F oven about 10 minutes.

While coils are warm, frost with an icing made freom the sugar and milk.

Don't know size of rectangle but I do know with any baking recipe its usually fairly thin at perhaps a 10 x 14 or similar, one of those things, work as you go...
