How to make it

  • Wash the cauliflower florets
  • Put them in water and add salt and boil till you sense the tenderness. Don’t boil for long time as it will break the florets when fried.
  • Drain it from water.
  • In a bowl mix besan or flour with red chilli powder, cumin powder, salt properly and add sufficient water to make an even and consistent batter.
  • Add poppy seeds and mix it again
  • Adjust salt and chilli powder as per your taste
  • Heat oil in a deep nonstick fry pan.
  • Let the oil be in full flame( it can be judged by just adding a drop of batter. If it spreads then not ready.) and then on medium flame.
  • Deep the parboiled florets in the batter and fry in the oil. When it turns golden drain with a slotted spoon and place on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil if any.
  • Enjoy with ketchup, mint chutney, coriander chutney.
  • Perfect to go with tea or coffee!
