Cauliflower Pokora

- 10 cauliflower florets shopping list
- Chick pea flour or refined flour- 1 cup shopping list
- Red chilli powder 1/2 shopping list
- cumin powder1/2 tsp shopping list
- poppy seeds( optional ) 2 tsp shopping list
- baking powder 1tsp shopping list
- salt according to taste shopping list
- water to boil the florets shopping list
- oil to fry shopping list
How to make it
- Wash the cauliflower florets
- Put them in water and add salt and boil till you sense the tenderness. Don’t boil for long time as it will break the florets when fried.
- Drain it from water.
- In a bowl mix besan or flour with red chilli powder, cumin powder, salt properly and add sufficient water to make an even and consistent batter.
- Add poppy seeds and mix it again
- Adjust salt and chilli powder as per your taste
- Heat oil in a deep nonstick fry pan.
- Let the oil be in full flame( it can be judged by just adding a drop of batter. If it spreads then not ready.) and then on medium flame.
- Deep the parboiled florets in the batter and fry in the oil. When it turns golden drain with a slotted spoon and place on a kitchen towel to drain excess oil if any.
- Enjoy with ketchup, mint chutney, coriander chutney.
- Perfect to go with tea or coffee!
