Braised cabbage

- 3 lb cabbage-chredded (red or white cabbage) shopping list
- 2-3 tbs sugar shopping list
- 1 sm onions-diced shopping list
- 4-tbs oil shopping list
- 1-1/2 tbs vinegar shopping list
- pinch of caraway seed-crushed shopping list
- 1/4 salt shopping list
How to make it
- Shred the cabbage into a large bowl and sprinkle with salt.
- After about 30 minutes squeeze out excess fluid from the cabbage.
- In a large skillet saute the onion in hot oil until soft.
- Than mix in sugar and then the squeesed out cabbage.
- Pour in the vinegar ,sprinkle with crushed caraway seed.
- cover tightly and let this braise on low heat.
- Do not stir a lot because the cabbage will braek apart to much.
