Spicy Orange Pecans

I love these spicy nuts. I make them year round and at holidays. I have one friend that begs for them. Maybe you have a friend that will too!
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 tbsp. cornstarch shopping list
- 1 tsp. cinnamon shopping list
- 1/4 tsp. allspice shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 2 tbsp. grated orange zest (thinnest, colored part of peel only) shopping list
- 2 egg whites, slightly beaten shopping list
- 2 tbsp. fresh orange juice shopping list
- 2 cups pecan halves shopping list
How to make it
- Sift together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, allspice, and salt.
- Stir in orange zest. In a separate bowl, blend egg whites with orange juice.
- Stir pecans into egg-white mixture, coating each completely.
- Drain thoroughly, then roll in sugar mixture to coat well.
- Spread on cookie sheet; do not let pecans touch.
- Bake at 250° 20 to 25 minutes or until dry.
- Cool before storing in covered container.
- You can substitute walnuts, if you prefer.
