Coconut Fingers

Ingredients
- Cookies: shopping list
- 3/4 c. shortening (half butter or margarine, softened) shopping list
- 3/4 c. confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. flour shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 c. brown sugar, packed shopping list
- 2 TBSP. flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. salt shopping list
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 c. walnuts shopping list
- 1/2 c. coconut shopping list
- orange-Lemon Icing: shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. confectioner's sugar shopping list
- 2 TBSP. butter or margarine, melted shopping list
- 3 TBSP. orange juice shopping list
- 1 tsp. lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- Cookies:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Cream shortening and confectioner's sugar. Blend in 1 1/2 c. flour. Press evenly in bottom of ungreased baking pan, 13 x 9 x 2 inches. Bake 12 - 15 min.
- Mix remaining ingredients (except glaze ingredients), spread over hot baked layer and bake 20 min. longer. While warm, spread with Orange-Lemon Icing. Cool; cut into bars, about 3 x 1 inch.
- Orange-Lemon Icing:
- Mix icing ingredients until smooth and of spreading consistency.
