Southern Chess Pie Recipe

Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix sugar, flour, meal and butter until consistency of meal.
  • Beat eggs, add with rest of ingredients to the sugar mixture.
  • Beat slightly. Bake in large unbaked pie shell at 350 degree oven 35 to 40 minutes.
  • Top should be golden brown, filling the consistency of jelly.

    Chess pie is indeed bliss. I had posted a lemon chess pie eons ago because I could eat the filling, skip the crust, and be a totally happy camper.
