How to make it

  • In a large bowl mix flour, sugar, and salt.
  • Cut in shortening until crumbly. Reserve I cup of the mixture.
  • To the rest of the crumb mixture add baking powder, milk, eggs, and vanilla. Beat well.
  • Spread into an prepared pan (13X9).
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until set.
  • Meanwhile, in a bowl beat cream cheese until fluffy. Add sweetened condensed milk.
  • Stir in lemon juice, peaches, and half of the nuts and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl combine the reserved crumbs and remaining nuts and cinnamon. Add the brown sugar.
  • Spoon the peach mixture ontop of the cake.
  • Sprinkle crumb mixture ontop of the peach mixture.
  • Bake 35 minutes longer or until set.
  • Serve warm.
