Delicious Corn Chowder For Autumn

- 4 slices bacon finely chopped shopping list
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced shopping list
- 4 cups cubed, pared potatoes (about 4 medium) shopping list
- 4 cups fresh corn kernels, cut from cob, OR 2 packages (10 ounce size) frozen whole kernel corn, thawed shopping list
- 1 cup heavy cream shopping list
- 1 teaspoon sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 2-1/2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper shopping list
- 2 cups milk shopping list
How to make it
- In large saucepan with cover, saute bacon, over moderate heat, until golden
- Add onion, potatoes, and 1 cup water
- Cover; bring to boil, simmer about 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender but not mushy
- Remove cover, set saucepan aside
- In medium saucepan with cover, combine corn, heavy cream, sugar, and butter
- Simmer, covered over low heat, about 10 minutes
- Add to potato mixture with remaining ingredients
- Cook, stirring occasionally over low heat, until heated through
- DO NOT BOIL
